New T-shirt design at Mooce Baby

I am delighted to present my new design for Mooce Baby girls t-shirts. I wanted to produce something with my brand name in it and so have created the cheerful red bubble design that relates to the Mooce logo. The design was printed at the Thea and Sami studio and as expected Thea has done a wonderful job.

New dress at Mooce Baby

I have decided to share this new creation with you all early because I am very pleased with the end result. I love the fabric and the colours. I have incorporated the butterfly theme into the cut of the dress by reproducing the butterfly motif into the sleeve. I think this adds an interesting feature to the dress . The fabric is designed by Valori Wells.
The dress will make its début at the Mathilda’s Market but I have already had an early order so it is available for sale now!!!
I have some more exciting news about new retailer that contacted me but can’t reveal the details as yet!
I am looking forward to hearing what you think about my dress : )

Beautiful Prague

I don’t know what it is but I have been feeling a bit home sick this week. It is quite unusual because I have been living in Australia for 8 years now and so I don’t really feel home sick that often. After all I consider Brisbane my home now. May be it is because my mum and grandma are coming in 3 weeks (can’t wait by the way) and I have been thinking of Prague lately.

To me, Prague is the most beautiful city in the world. Rich in culture and did I mention the architecture? The Old Town Square is the oldest square in historic Prague, it is surrounded with historical buildings such as the Old Town City Hall (where I got married) and the famous Astronomical Clock. I use to love wondering around the square and the markets there. The square was founded in the 10th century as a place, where various goods from all over Europe were sold and believe it or not the markets are still going today. The square is surrounded by lots of little streets and it amazes me how every time I would end up in the little street I have never been before with little cafe, shop or pub nearby....

Anyway, enough sulking and back to work : )

Afternoon in a Gallery

Apart from trying to get my stuff together for Handmade Heaven I also managed to squeeze in a visit to the Queensland Art Gallery(Brisbane) on Tuesday. I went to see the American Impressionism & Realism exhibition.

For the first time a selection of 71 paintings (by 34 painters) from New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is on display. Included are many of the Metropolitan’s best examples in the American Impressionist and Realist traditions which have never before been displayed together and are not likely to be lent again as an ensemble. The exhibition features the works of celebrated American artists of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

I am a big fan of the great French painters of the day and I could see glimpses of influence from their work. Some of my favourite paintings were “At the seaside” by William Merritt Chase and “Bathing hour” by E Phillips Fox.

The exhibition will close on 20th September 2009

Sunday

Today my little family decided to go to South Bank for breakfast overlooking the river. Well the sun was up as we left the house but as soon as we arrived at the South bank the heavens opened up and it started to rain. Never mind, we still had a great breakfast and strolled around the markets. Wow, some great stuff and talent!

Mathilda's Market here I come.....

Oh, I am extremely excited to be part of Mathilda’s Market in July this year. This is my first market EVER and so I am busily getting ready :-)

Mathilda's Market is a fabulous niche market that offers unique, stylish and affordable baby & kids goods that are lovingly handmade or of limited production. The retailers are hand picked to ensure an exciting product range. You will discover a vast variety of funky, unique and gorgeous clothing (for example organic cotton, vintage, 70's, etc) wooden letters, canvasses, soft & wooden toys, soft leather shoes, travel activity packs, room decor, bags, paintings, fun & personalised accessories, vintage-inspired products, musical instruments, handcrafted jewellery, fairy & dress up costumes & accessories, hair accessories, doll houses & accessories, linen, sleepwear and so much more! Most of the retailers (like me) do not have a shop front, so you know you'll find something special, not available anywhere else.

Come and see the Mooce Baby stand on Sunday 19 July 2009 from 9am to 1pm at the Brisbane City Hall, King George Square, Main Auditorium (groud floor).

I think it will be a fantastic day out for you & your family.
Can’t wait to see you there!
